Abstract Content
Commercial LIMS, over the years, have provided solutions that incorporate portable data collection devices or alternate user interfaces to meet the demands of different groups of users. Traditionally, these solutions have been very dependent on a specific device configuration, or have been limited in terms of functionality.

LABWORKS 6.1 has been designed on a platform that removes these limitations to provide a wider range of deployment options for all LIMS users. The underlying architecture ensures that all elements of the LIMS configuration, from user language to workflows, are presented and applied consistently regardless of deployment mechanism.

The LABWORKS 6.1 Web Client was developed in ASP.NET 3.5 using state of the art AJAX controls. AJAX technology enables web applications to provide highly responsive and interactive user experiences without imposing browser dependencies. The product has zero client footprint, with nothing to download or execute.

As a result, LABWORKS can move outside the laboratory without presenting significant limitations to users in terms of their ability to access or process information. The user profile, rather than the hardware or software environment, dictates the user interaction.
