Abstract Content
TGA-MS is an important technique for material characterization; however simultaneous evolution of different gas can be difficult to interpret under certain conditions, when mixtures of hydrocarbons are evolved for example. In these cases, GC/MS has some decided advantages. In addition, being able to also see the DTA or heat flux DSC curve with the TGA curve allows one to gain a better understanding of the transitions in the materials.
