David R. Walt will receive the 2013 Pittsburgh Analytical Chemistry Award, presented by the Society for Anlaytical Chemists of Pittsburgh. David R. Walt is Robinson Professor of Chemistry at Tufts University and is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor. Dr. Walt is the Scientific Founder and a Director of both Illumina Inc. and Quanterix Corp. He has published over 250 scientific papers and holds over 50 patents. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Walt received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from SUNY at Stony Brook.
